We also provide group CPR certification training at a very low cost. For more information or to check scheduling for a training session, contact Charla Baker at 417-532-2134.
Nursing Department Notes…
In reviewing our agency history, we find that the Laclede County Health Department was established in 1942 with an Administrator, one Sanitarian, and one Public Health Nurse. Currently, Kim Smith, RN serves as our Director of Nursing with a staff of 4 Registered Nurses, and 1 Licensed Practical Nurse (Lois, Roxan, Bobbie, Kimberly Bailey, and Alicia).
Our Nursing Department is most known for the immunizations provided to area children. Even with the recent changes to immunization eligibility guidelines, our staff provided over $29,350 in vaccines in 2016, at no cost to families through the Vaccines For Children Program. Also in 2016, we provided nearly 4569 client contacts in various services such as: Blood Pressure Checks, Laboratory Services, Tuberculosis Testing, Sexually Transmitted Disease Testing/Treatment, Women’s Health Clinic.
Our nursing staff has many years of professional experience and appreciates the opportunity to assist you with your public health needs. We are continually assessing our programs and services and making necessary changes to provide you with the highest quality of service.
